MIT Solve (Apr./May)

MIT Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology that supports teams developing innovative, technology-driven solutions to global challenges. Each year, Solve launches a set of Global Challenges and connects selected teams with a network of experts, partners, and resources to help scale their impact.

The program emphasizes human-centered design, interdisciplinary collaboration, and real-world problem solving across social, environmental, and technological domains.

Science Fair Foundation (Aug./Sept.)

The Youth Innovation Showcase, organized by Science Fair Foundation BC, is a virtual STEAM competition for students in British Columbia and the Yukon. Participants present projects that address real-life or community challenges in scientific and technological fields.

Conrad Challenge (Nov./Dec.)

The Conrad Challenge, presented by Equinor, is an international innovation and entrepreneurship competition for students aged 13–18. Teams develop solutions to global challenges across areas such as aerospace and aviation, cybersecurity, energy and environment, and health and nutrition.

The program encourages students to apply science, technology, and creative thinking to real-world problems while developing collaboration and entrepreneurial skills.

Blue Ocean Competition (Feb.)

The Blue Ocean Entrepreneurship Competition is a global high school business and entrepreneurship competition founded in 2014 in Maryland. Inspired by the Blue Ocean Strategy framework, the program encourages students to develop innovative business ideas that address unmet market needs.

The competition is open to high school students worldwide and is conducted virtually, allowing participants from diverse regions and backgrounds to collaborate and compete on an international platform.

Diamond Challenge (Oct.)

The Diamond Challenge, organized by Horn Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware, is a nonprofit educational initiative that supports students interested in entrepreneurship and social innovation. The program provides free resources and structured opportunities for students to develop, submit, and present original business or social venture ideas.

Participation is open to students globally, with competition formats and requirements determined by the Diamond Challenge organizing team.

Math Contests

As an official Canadian test center for leading international mathematics competitions—including AMC, Caribou, and Math Kangaroo—The Milky Way Education & Planning Institute provides structured preparation and coaching for students participating in math contests across the Greater Vancouver region.

Programs focus on mathematical reasoning, problem-solving strategies, and competition readiness, supporting students at various levels of experience.
